Heh, I was actually thinking, after reading [personal profile] branchandroot's post, that no public repos I've seen on Github actually provided a development environment for contributors, but since my experience with OSS is really limited, I was glad to see confirmation of that from you and [staff profile] denise. The few times I've dabbled at web development on my own, I've always had to set up a local version.

For what it's worth, I looked at your Mac OS X installation instructions, and they're pretty straightforward for an advanced beginner like me.

A question about coding, if you have the time to answer: I noticed the volunteer intake mentions Python/Django...as someone who knows some Python/Django and has absolutely no interest in learning Ruby, is there actually any place where that will be useful in and of itself? Or is it more of a "if you have experience with Python and Django, picking up Ruby on Rails would have less of a learning curve" sort of thing?
