Yes, definitely. The deployment manager would usually liaise with the comms team beforehand, to prepare everything and give advance warning, and then IM and DM liaise with comms during and just after the release.
For AO3, Lucy's been doing a great job on that, because she's on both AD&T and Comms, but it would be better still if it didn't all rely on one person, and she had a team working with her.
